December 8, 2024: WATCHMEN ON THE WALLS FOR ISRAEL - Key Prayer Points!!

Israel's Prime Minister Netanyahu, visited the Syrian border today, Sunday, December 8, 2024 hailing the collapse of the Assad regime, “a central link in Iran’s axis of evil,” describing it as a “historic day in the history of the Middle East.”

December 8, 2024: As the Syrian army retreated to run and hide, the IDF secured their abandoned posts on Mount Hermon.

For the first time since the Six-Day War, our forces are beyond enemy lines on three fronts - Gaza, southern Lebanon, and Syria!

As the Syrian army retreated to run and hide, the IDF secured their abandoned posts on Mount Hermon. The Syrians held Mount Hermon as a higher more strategic peak.

Unbelievable!!!

Those familiar with the fierce battles and dozens of lives lost to capture Mount Hermon, and even after such heavy costs, the higher peak remained threatening to us. And now, without a single shot being fired, ADONAI gives us a gift for Hanukkah!!!

For a country that’s fighting for its survival on seven different fronts - Seven! Think about that for a moment - what has been achieved, can only be explained with the miraculous moving of ADONAI's Hand, going before His people and giving them victories and breakthroughs!

This is an all-out fight for the very existence of the Jewish state. From Hamas in Gaza to Hezbollah in Lebanon, Israel is being surrounded and attacked by forces that want nothing less than to see her wiped off the map. But here’s the thing: they won’t succeed. Why? Because God has made promises. Not just any promises—Biblical promises of protection for Israel. And those promises still stand strong today!

"Then the LORD said to me, “You have seen well, for I am watching over My Word to perform it.” Jeremiah 1:12

After achieving major victories on the battlefield, Israel destroyed much of Hezbollah's arsenal eliminated its leader, the replacement of the leader, and the replacement of the replacement...which sent a clear message that terror will never go unanswered!

Make no mistake that the only option to ensure real peace in the Middle East is actually by uprooting radicalism at its source. We must remember that everything in our physical world is a reflection of the spiritual world that we do not see with our physical eyes. This means that the most powerful way that we can support and help Israel, which should never be overlooked, is by PRAYING, standing in the gap for the LORD's Nation!

Prayer isn’t just about hope—it’s about action. It’s about lifting up those who are suffering and seeking God’s intervention in a world that often seems too chaotic to fix. And right now, Israel needs our prayers more than ever. And ADONAI promises in His Word that He will protect Israel, the apple of His eye!

City of Jerusalem in the background: ISRAEL PRAYER POINTS

The following are key areas where your prayers can make a real difference, especially as we pray the Word of the LORD back to Him, bringing His Word to His remembrance:

1) Pray For Wisdom for Israel’s Leadership

The decisions made by Israel’s government, military leaders, and diplomats have life-or-death consequences for millions of people. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his team are navigating one of the most difficult periods in Israel’s modern history, balancing military strategy with diplomatic challenges.

Israel’s leadership needs wisdom, clarity, and strength. They must make decisions that ensure the security of the nation while considering the future stability of the region.

"And He will be the stability of your times, abundance of salvation, wisdom, and knowledge; the fear of the LORD is Zion’s treasure." Isaiah 33:6

Whether in war rooms or during international negotiations, these leaders are under tremendous pressure. Pray for their discernment, for them to be guided by the wisdom of the LORD, seeking Him for divine strategies, eyes to see and ears to hear what the RUACH HA'KODESH (Holy Spirit) is saying.

"Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way; walk in it." Isaiah 30:21

2) Pray For Safety and Protection for Civilians and Soldiers

Let's not forget the people who've been most affected by this war in the north; The families in Northern Israel. For a year, they have endured rocket, fire, air raid sirens, and worst of all, they've been displaced from their homes. They were living as refugees in their own country for a year!

Now, with this "ceasefire" they have a chance to rebuild their lives. A few of them have already started to come back to what's left of their homes, to try to pick up the pieces from what's left. They've made incredible sacrifices for the security of our nation. And now it's Israel's turn to repay them by ensuring their safety, supporting their recovery from trauma and providing them with the resources they need to rebuild their lives.

We need to pray for not only their physical provision and restoration, but also deep emotional, physiological, mental and spiritual healing and deliverance that only YESHUA can bring into their lives!

"1The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor.

He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners,

2to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, 3 and provide for those who grieve in Zion— to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair.

They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor."

Isaiah 61:1-3

Meanwhile, Israel is also focusing on bringing the hostages back, using more resources against Hamas in Gaza, because as always, we draw our strength from our faith in ADONAI!

It's written that the God of Israel, neither slumbers nor sleeps. This war wasn't just about military might, it was about spiritual resilience and trust in the God of Israel!

"Indeed, He who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord watches over you — the Lord is your shade at your right hand. The Lord will keep you from all harm — He will watch over your life." Psalm 121:4-5; 7

3) Pray For Healing for the Wounded and Comfort for the Grieving

As pointed out in the point above, the wounds of war are not just physical—they’re emotional, psychological and spiritual as well. Hospitals in Israel are treating countless soldiers and civilians who have been injured in rocket attacks or military operations. Meanwhile, families are grieving the loss of loved ones, and the trauma of this conflict is taking its toll on the nation as a whole.

There are many who are seeking counselling from psychiatrists (which there is a shortage of in Israel, because so many are in such dispare).

Pray for the people of Israel to cry out to ADONAI their Healer and Deliverer, Who is the only one capable of healing the wounded, both in body and in spirit. Many Israeli families are facing the devastating loss of family members, homes, and livelihoods. Their grief is immense! Pray that those who have been injured recover quickly, and that the families who have lost loved ones find comfort and hope in ADONAI their Comforter, in these dark times:

1“Comfort, comfort My people,” says your God.

2“Speak tenderly to Jerusalem, and proclaim to her that her forced labor has been completed; Her iniquity has been pardoned. For she has received from the hand of the LORD double for all her sins.”

3 A voice of one calling:

“Prepare the way for the LORD in the wilderness; make a straight highway for our God in the desert. 4 Every valley shall be lifted up, and every mountain and hill made low; The uneven ground will become smooth, and the rugged land a plain.

5 And the glory of the LORD will be revealed, and all humanity together will see it.

For the mouth of the LORD has spoken.”

Isaiah 40:1-5

4) Pray For Peace for the Region

Peace in the Middle East is something that seems elusive, however, this doesn't mean we should stop praying for peace! The situation between Israel and its neighbors has been tense for decades, with numerous conflicts breaking out over the years. Israel’s enemies, including terrorist organizations like Hamas and Hezbollah, continue to target civilians in their attacks.

Yet, we are commanded to pray for the peace of Jerusalem:

A beautiful framed art by Standing with Israel artist Desiree Silva: ""6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: “May those who love you prosper." Psalm 122:6

"6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: “May those who love you prosper.

7 May there be peace within your walls, and prosperity inside your fortresses.”

8 For the sake of my brothers and friends, I will say, “Peace be within you.”

9 For the sake of the house of the LORD our God, I will seek your prosperity."

Psalm 122:6-9

Though the political situation may seem impossible to resolve, peace is always worth pursuing. Pray for peace in the region—not just for a temporary ceasefire, but for a genuine breakthrough that leads to lasting stability and security for Israel and its neighbors (as it is promised in verse 7, of Psalm 122, quoted above!). Pray that the violence ends and that diplomacy leads to real solutions that benefit everyone.

5) Pray For Economic Recovery for Israeli Businesses

One of the less-discussed but very real consequences of this war is the impact on Israel’s economy, especially for small, local businesses. With rockets that have rained down over the year and tourism all but vanished, many Israeli businesses—particularly in industries like hospitality, crafts, and agriculture—are struggling to survive. For a country where so much of the economy depends on daily commerce, the financial strain is enormous!

Pray for the economic recovery of these businesses. The resilience of Israel’s economy is remarkable, but it’s being tested right now. Small business owners, many of whom were already struggling to recover after COVID-19, now face the threat of losing everything due to the ongoing war!

Pray for these farmers, craftsmen, workers, their families, and the employees who rely on them for their livelihoods.

"My God will fulfill every need of yours according to the riches of His glory in Messiah Yeshua." Philippians 4:19

"But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you." Matthew 6:33

"But remember the LORD your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms His covenant, which he swore to your ancestors, as it is today." Deuteronomy 8:18

No matter how powerful our enemies may seem. From the days of David and Goliath till today, Israel's survival has never been about the size of our army or the strength of our enemies. It has always been about our God, the courage that we have, the resilience, and the purpose of why we're here!

If you want to understand the future of Israel, you actually need to look at its past. Every enemy that has ever tried to mess with the Jewish people is no longer standing!

So what's next for Israel?

  • 1) We must remain vigilant!

"Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour." 1 Peter 5:8

“When the wicked advance against me to devour me, it is my enemies and foes who will stumble and fall.” Psalm 27:2

Do you think it’s a coincidence that time after time, Israel’s enemies fail to defeat her? From ancient Egypt to modern-day terrorists, the pattern remains the same. Hamas and Hezbollah can launch all the rockets they want, but their ultimate defeat is inevitable! They can plot and plan, but they’re up against something far greater than they’ll ever comprehend: God’s divine plan!

  • 2) Rebuild the North

Stay ready to act against any violations by Hezbollah and now Syria, to see that no further threats come through. And not allow Israel's enemies to become another terror hub.

"I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you." Isaiah 46:4b

“Only if these decrees vanish from my sight, declares the Lord, will Israel ever cease being a nation before me.” Jeremiah 31:35-36

  • 3) Focus on Gaza

With the northern front with Hezbollah being more quiet, Israel can dedicate more resources to dismantling Hamas and securing the south."Blessed are you, Israel! Who is like you, a people saved by the Lord? He is your shield and helper and your glorious sword. Your enemies will cower before you, and you will tread on their heights." Deuteronomy 33:29

  • 4) Prepare for the Future This war showed the world what Israel is capable of! But we must continue to innovate, strengthen, and prepare for whatever comes next!

"No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is from Me,” Says the LORD." Isaiah 54:17
